I had so much fun creating the last two reading charts that I decided to create a few more.  So here is a giraffe and elephant reading chart for you to download.

I also created a new page to put all of the reading charts in the same place so if you missed last weeks you'll be able to find them here on my Reading Charts page.

If your wondering why I put the numbers as 26 on one and 27 on the other one, that's just how many circles and spots I was able to fit on the animals.

Well, its been a long year but today's the last day of school in my school district.  I'm looking forward to a nice summer.  So it's probably too late for you to use these in your classroom this year,  but for all of the parents out their who want to keep their kids busy reading this summer I've created two new reading charts.  You can have them color in a square for each book or each chapter they read, and then have a decided on award for them when they finish.

And here is something that I created last year.  It's a summer reading wish list.  It's a great way to have your kids plan out what they want to read over the summer.

I've been working on a set of make 10 hidden picture worksheets.  In these worksheets all of the addition problems sums are 10.  Kids find out what the hidden picture is by using different colors determined by which way 10 was made.  So 6+4 is a different color than 7+3.

You can download a free worksheet below.

Hope everyone is having a great end of year.

I've just completed a new addition practice game called, A very hungry mouse.  This game is played with a set of dice so students get to practice their addition facts with sums up to 12.    For those of you who are teaching in states that use the common core standards.  I've started to include which standards are met in each of these games.  This game aligns with the CCSS.Math.Content.1.OA.C.6 standard of Adding and subtracting within 20.

Here is a free addition board game that I hope you enjoy.  Your kids get to follow the Christmas lights around the wreath to reach the star in the middle.  This game will help students practice addition for problems with sums on 10-14.

It comes with a set of flash cards as well.

I'm planning on making some other versions of the game as well to practice other addition facts so stay tuned.

Its been a while since I've created any math file folder games so I thought it was time to create some more.  Octopus Eight is a game where students practice their addition skills by learning all of the addition facts with a sum of eight.

Students will be able to use the addition strategies of using counters and using a number line.

The game can be played as either a two player game or it can be played individually.

The game includes the game board, number cards, directions, a game label and a recording sheet.

The game will be available for free until Monday.  If you missed the giveaway and would like to be alerted to when I have new products come out you can follow me on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter or subscribe to the RSS feed.

Here's a new sight word file folder game just in time for Halloween.  Ghosts vs. Vampires.  Ghosts and vampires fight to see who is the scariest monster.
Students play by taking turns drawing sight word cards.  If they can read the word they get to put the card on their game board.  There are also boo and bat cards that help to make the game more interesting.

The sight words in this game are the ones from the Dolch pre-primer list.

The game will be available for free until Monday.

You can find more great sight words games on my teaching sight words page and at the websites shop.

Dolch second grade sight word worksheets are here.  These worksheets are a little more challenging then the ones for first grade and kindergarten.  Students can color and write the words but they can also practice spelling them by covering and spelling the word, picking the correct spelling, and hunting for the word in a string of letters.
The worksheets will be available free to download until Friday when they will go up for sale.  You can also check out many other great ideas to teach sight words on my teaching sight words page, or at the websites shop.
