Coloring by numbers is a common activity for Kindergarten and first grade. Here is a chance to use the concept to have students practice finding equivalent fractions. Students will need to color the picture by figuring out what the fraction is equivalent to. This is the first of four of these coloring pages that I'm going to have available for free on this site. A great way to extend this activity is to have students list all of the equivalent fractions that are used in the color by fractions page by what they are equivalent to. For example, for 1/5 students can write: 2/10, 3/15, 4/20

That's a really cute idea for learning fraction equivalents! Wish they would have had something like this when I was learning this stuff. LOL. I love color by numbers. :) 06/25/2012 6:48pm
Not surprisingly perhaps, my favorite homeschooling subject was geography. Love the math sheet and ideas. Great job. 06/26/2012 12:24pm
