Having kids use foldables is a great way for students to remember new information. It helps engage students in their learning, provide kinesthetic feedback for students, and helps students learn to take notes. I got the idea for this vocabulary foldable from A teacher's treasure blog. I put my own twist on the idea and have created a printable that you can use for the foldable. To make the foldable cut out the pieces on the Vocabulary Foldable printable and then use the above picture as a model when putting the foldable together. Little Blue Men are coming to earth and are trying to learn English. They already learned some prefixes and they've sent out scouts to collect words. Your students job is to match root words to a prefixes, then record their observations on a recording sheet. (Note: I'm using root word here to mean any word that a prefix can be added to, not the smallest unit of meaning. I'm doing this to have students focus on the prefix and its meaning.)
The free giveaway is over. To purchase this game or see other great file folder games visit the File-Folder - printables page.
