This think sheet for behavior management helps students to STOP and consider their actions. They need to describe what their behavior was, come up with a plan to change their behavior, list the consequence of their behavior and finally figure out why the behavior happened in the first place. This is one of my growing collection of classroom management tools on this site. And I've created a whole new page devoted to the use of think sheets or behavior contracts. I only have 3 up on the page right now but stay tuned because there is sure to be more.
Here are 5 new game boards to practice the phonics skill of initial consonant digraphs. If you missed the initial consonant or initial consonant blends board games you can download them on my phonics page. These five board games will let your students practice: ch, gh, kn, sh, th, wh, and wr digraphs. They will have to say the sound of the digraph when they land on it and a word that starts with that sound.
So I've got five new phonics board games for you. These are similar to the ones that I did yesterday except they are now covering initial consonant blends. Below each picture of the games you will find the link to the game. In each game students roll the dice and move that many spaces on the game board. They then have to say the sound of the consonant blend that they've landed on and say a word that starts with the sound. The first one to the end wins! If you missed yesterdays games you can get them all on my phonics page.
I've been working all morning on a new website design. It features a new logo and new fonts. Hope you like it! Also you can now follow my blog or my Facebook page right from the top of the screen. Did you download the free game boards that I released yesterday? There are 5 of them in total. If you didn't you can get them all on this page. All of the games boards let students practice their phonics skills by having them focus on learning the initial consonant sounds. Stay tuned because later today or maybe tomorrow, depending on when I can get to it, I will be releasing initial consonant blends and diphthong versions of the game boards. And guess what all of these I am going to keep absolutely free. Note: This is also the last day that you can download the Alphabet Tug of War game for free so come and get it quickly. Let your students practice their initial consonants by this board game inspired by the classic children's book If you give a mouse a cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff. Find four other great phonics game boards on my phonics page.
In this initial consonant game board students will help the rabbit get to eat its carrot.
