Help your students to expand into other genres by giving out a mystery award. To earn this award students will need to read four books in the mystery genre. You can, of course, alter this number according to your grade and your students need. You can get this award and many others in the Awards, Certificates, Achievements and More eBook. Whats so great about the mystery genre?
Do you think that mysteries are only for the upper grades?
Think again. The following books are great to use in the younger grades. If you liked the Little Blue Men from Space prefixes your going to love this new version with suffixes. Just like before students need to help the little blue men learn about our language by matching words with suffixes to create longer and more complex words. The download includes a playing mat, title, pieces pouch, playing cards, and a recording sheet.
Note: To those that have already downloaded the prefixes version I've discovered some mistakes and am fixing them now. When I've finished I will repost the updated version and will ask that you download it again. The free giveaway is over. You can purchase the game at the file folder - printables page. So I've opened up my Teacher Lingo comment inbox only to discover that I've been spammed. There wasn't just a couple there were over 4,000 spam comments all on one post in my inbox. None of them were published but still I hate having all of them in my inbox. Luckily Teacher Lingo has a bulk delete option but it only works for 10 comments at a time. So I've spent the last hour deleting them and I'm still not done. Have any of you had the same problem?
Little Blue Men are coming to earth and are trying to learn English. They already learned some prefixes and they've sent out scouts to collect words. Your students job is to match root words to a prefixes, then record their observations on a recording sheet. (Note: I'm using root word here to mean any word that a prefix can be added to, not the smallest unit of meaning. I'm doing this to have students focus on the prefix and its meaning.)
The free giveaway is over. To purchase this game or see other great file folder games visit the File-Folder - printables page. Aliens are coming to visit Earth and Mars in this fun addition game. To play students roll the dice and cover a number on their planet. When a student has covered the entire planet they win! Click on the link below to download the game.
