It's been awhile since my last post because I've been working hard on a new product. Pirate Word Ladders. ![]() In this e-book you will find 40 reproducible Pirate word ladders. These word ladders are a great way for students to analyze words and will help students with decoding as well as spelling. Using Word Ladders Students will start at the bottom of the word ladder and use the directions and clues to create new words as they move to the top of each word ladder. Example The word ladder starts with the word Jack. The directions tell you to change the first letter and the clue is, “Put your homework in your back______.” The word that you need to make is pack. I've finally completed the 3rd grade version of Flyswatter Vocabulary. This game has 8 weeks worth of vocabulary words to use, along with blank templates to make more of your own. Now I've created 12 different cootie catchers to help students expand their vocabulary. These Cootie catchers are designed help students practice their synonyms and antonyms. Player 2: Open and close the cootie catcher that many times. Player 1: Choose a number inside the cootie catcher. Player 2: Lift the chosen flap and read the directions. S - Chose a synonym of the word A- Choose an antonym of the word Lose a turn - Your turn is over it's the next players turn. Say it in a Sentence - Say the synonym or antonym of the word you picked in a sentence. Double Trouble – You must think of two synonyms or antonyms. Battle Round – Players take turns saying synonyms or antonyms of the chosen word the player who runs out of words the soonest looses.
This new file-folder game is perfect for kids to practice letter recognition. Students must help frog to determine which letters are missing. This abc file-folder game helps kids to put letter in alphabetical order. They Will need to help frog put the caterpillar together by first finding the caterpillars head and then putting all of the letters in order. This is going to be one very long caterpillar when done. This is a perfect activity to go along with Eric Carle's book the Very Hungry Caterpillar. If you liked the Little Blue Men from Space prefixes your going to love this new version with suffixes. Just like before students need to help the little blue men learn about our language by matching words with suffixes to create longer and more complex words. The download includes a playing mat, title, pieces pouch, playing cards, and a recording sheet.
Note: To those that have already downloaded the prefixes version I've discovered some mistakes and am fixing them now.
